Dying for Chocolate (Culinary Mysteries)

This is the second in the series, but the first I've read; certainly won't be the last. An amusing, light, but well-written mystery with believable characters. I really love Goldy ... she's a hoot with her stubborn inquisitiveness.
"Dying for Chocolate" dives right in with the unexplained death under odd circumstances of a very special friend of Goldy's after a catered event.
The characters have real personalities and reactions you would expect. It kept me guessing until the end as to who was guilty of murder and why.
The added bonus of yummy recipes tempts you with such choices as Strawberry Super Pie, Scout's Brownies, New Potato Salad and the Chile Relleno Torta to name a few.
I'd certainly recommend this fun cozy. Put on a pot of coffee and curl up with your favorite sweets while you *whip* through Goldy's adventure.

Received this book today, dying from chocolate would be an agreable death, I think. Thanks to Pyan for relaying it, I always wanted to try a culinary mystery. It's going to my TBR shelf.
You need lots of sweets especially chocolate-y ones to read that book ! It was also my first Goldy and I can't wait to read the other ones especially as the recipes sound very yummy and the story was great ! I had a falling-out with mysteries, but cozies are much more than a simple mystery, so I will definetely read more of that genre.
The book was well written and was fast-paced just enough so you wanted to know the ending, but could sleep at nights. The characters were interesting and real which is a big bonus from the other mysteries. I could actually enter in her office, the kitchen, without feeling out of place. Actually, I did when she made the Lethal Layers, because there's no way I can do something like that. Otherwise, it was great.
Thanks Pyan for sharing it !!!

lol -- not sure if I am enjoying this much rain!!! The book arrived safe and sound and surprising dry -- you had him bundled up well :-). I will comment on it once I have read it and then pass it on to a new reader.
**I didn't like this one as much as I liked the first in the series. I had a hard time getting through this one and although I like Goldy -- I didn't think that she made wise choices this time around. The one thing about the book that I did enjoy was it kept me guessing as to who done it. I also wrote out the recipe for the lethal layers -- I hope it is as yummy as it sounds.
my mom expressed interest in this series so I will be passing it on to her.
