When Hannah opens the door of her grandparent's apartment as part of a Jewish ceremony, she is transported back to the time of the Holocaust. Suddenly, she finds herself in the body of Chaya, a Jewish girl living with her relatives after a sickness has killed her parents. At her uncle's wedding, the whole town is rounded up and taken to a concentration camp, where many die. There, Hannah learns a lot about herself and her culture.
