This is a very sad but true story of a young man who walked into the Alaskan wilderness and died. Not quite as enthralling as Krakauer's Into Thin Air, but a moving tale,nonetheless,

My pic is from Mount Daimonji,a short walk from my house. Because of all the typhoons in Japan this year, there is a lack of food for animals in the forest. There has been a spate of bear attacks in various towns and even us Kyoto city dwellers have been warned.
