Happy Christmas. This looks to me like something you might like. Hope you haven't read it before.

I love Christmas. And I love getting Christmas parcels. And I especially love getting Christmas parcels that contain books. And even more so when they're accompanied with all sorts of other goodies, including edible ones :-) Thank you very much, Deltic - very much appreciated!

A brilliantly intricate and intriguing mystery in the style of the Golden Age, with a murder during a weekend house party hosted by the Earl and Countess of Burford in Alderley. Many of the weird and wonderful guests/suspects are from the film world and most are not what they seem . . . Twists and turns and red herrings abound before the final reveal at the end . . . Wonderful!
The author wrote three investigations by Detective (Chief) Inspector Wilkins before his death in 2007: The Affair of the Bloodstained Egg Cosy that I devoured at the weekend, this one and The Affair of the Thirty-Nine Cufflinks which I've just downloaded to enjoy on the Kindle after I've savoured these complications for a while! Unfortunately there will be no more!
Thanks again, Deltic :-)

Loved this second mystery from James Anderson.
