Dear finder of this book: you have found a free, "travelling" book, (well, actually a magazine) registered on Bookcrossing.com. What is Bookcrossing? It is just like geo-caching for books. It is free and anonymous and aims to spread the love of reading and "make the whole world a library". Please visit the Bookcrossing website (see label inside the book) and make a short journal entry, so we know the book has been found. Then, when you are finished with it, pass it on, and help its journey continue. About this publication:
This is the first, full-size (vs. digest-size) issue since 2011. I was working for this publication from 1997 - 2011 (when it folded). But, some brave, former employees revived Harrowsmith, and many former subscribers are very happy about this. This Winter issue will warm you up (it's still really cold in April!) with great soup recipes, places to cross-country ski, a story on wool, a visit to a farm in Lion's Head, Ontario and lots more.

I found this magazine in a Little Free Library in Acton, Ontario while I was out exchanging books. It looked interesting so I took it to read. Now I am going to buy a subscription to this magazine. I am going to save this for my friend's birthday box.

That is wonderful, 2peasandadog, that you are getting a subscription. I think you will really enjoy it. I loved working on the magazine (14 years) and still do some special projects. Right now, the Harrowsmith Almanac for 2021 is out in stores (pretty sure it's at Shoppers and Home Hardware in town) - for $8.99 it makes a great Holiday stocking stuffer - a bargain for 200+ pages (hardly any ads!)
