The African Svelte: Ingenious Misspellings That Make Surprising Sense

I got this hardcover from a friend for Christmas. I'd put it on my wishlist because I adored the punny title, and the book itself delves into a wide variety of pleasing errors.
Opening with a Charles Baxter quote, "There is such a thing as the poetry of a mistake," the book relishes some of the happier errors that the author has encountered - and describes the author's use of "svelte" for this kind of wordplay as well as the many sources of material. Among my favorites:
"heart-rendering" - a twist on "heart-rending", this one is accompanied by an illustration showing someone braising a heart in a skillet.
"I besiege you..." instead of "beseech you" - that one can be VERY appropriate in the case of people who won't take "no" for an answer!
And one of the prettiest: "Spreading like wildflowers" instead of "wildfire"...
