I grew up watching Valerie on One Day At a Time. We all loved her. I think we wanted to be her. She was so pretty and confident and had great hair and a sense of style. But behind the scenes, she was doing a lot of coke and other things. I remembered the season when she'd gotten so thin. It made me wish I could, too. Little did I know it was a result of her drug use.

She's very open and candid in this book. You can hear her voice shine through as you read it.

I'm claiming this ex-library hardcover from the Many Many Memoirs bookbox. I, too, remember Bertinelli from her TV-series days, and have appreciated her more recent work.

Later: The diet details didn't grab me, but I did appreciate some of the ups and downs in her life - especially when she included glimpses of the life of a working actress.

I left this book in the little gazebo by the parking lot of Halibut Point park at around 4 on this beautiful day. Hope the finder enjoys it!
