"Nothing links person to person like the frequent passage from hand to hand of a good book."
Diana Moore, a thirty-something professional living in New York City, is living the big city life when a terrible car accident wipes out her entire family -- her parents and brother are gone. She heads out of the city and ends up in a small town in New Jersey when no one knows her. Taking refuge in this place, she takes the time she needs to come to terms with her loss and begin to recover her equilibrium.
This is one of those situations that somehow is always in the back of my mind. No one ever knows when that call will come, that someone they love has been taken from them. This is a story that can stay with you a while.
A wandering book -- the karma of literature!

Cleaning off my shelves and sending books out into the world
"A book is a mysterious object, I said, and once it floats out into the world, anything can happen. All kinds of mischief can be caused, and there's not a damned thing you can do about it. For better or worse, it's completely out of your control."
Paul Auster

Thanks for sending this book to me. I think it may actually be on my wishlist. I look forward to reading it.
I enjoyed the writing and characters, though they didn't stick with me very strongly. I had to remind myself who was who each time I picked it back up to read. I'm not sure why that is.
