Since no-one has expressed any interest in this yet - and I thought it sounded quite interesting - I thought I'd rescue it... with a view to reading it myself sometime !

Journal Entry 5 by TheGreenMan at York, North Yorkshire United Kingdom on Monday, October 24, 2016
I read this a while back - but my memory of it has faded somewhat as a result of not journalling my thoughts at the time. My bad.

I do remember it being a very engaging read and kinda borderline sleazy - in a way that would provoke comment and potential approbrium had it come from the pen of a male author! The 'rotating narrative voice' device worked well as I remember and it was both atmospheric and unpredictable. Okay, occasionally it was melodramatic and a bit ludicrous and over-the-top - but I rather like those qualities if the setup has been done well and the mood created adequately beforehand. All in all, whilst it can't claim to be high literature, it was a fun(and relatively easy) read and consequently I rather enjoyed it!

I would recommend it to anyone who isn't going to get too hung up on the undeniably inappropriate sexual fantasy aspects of Sally Emerson's writing, but is willing to go with the flow in the interests of being told a gripping story in an entertaining way... Enjoy!

Cant say I cared for either of the protaganists, and the morality is a little distasteful, but then that makes this one of the more realistic books about actual people. Worth a read.
