The Dead Boy Detectives
2 journalers for this copy...
The "dead boys" are Edwin Paine, who died in 1916, and Charles Rowland, who died in 1990 (in the same attic that contained Edwin's remains - and ghost). After some afterlife goings-on (shown in the bonus story at the end) resulted in their being freed to exist in the regular world, although with some interesting abilities and limitations due to the whole being-ghosts thing. This book deals with their attempts to be detectives (with home base being a tree house), including some cases that range from amusing to scary... The flashbacks to the bullying and abuse surrounding their deaths are troubling, especially in the bonus story showing how the boys died and met, but most of the main story is lighter, especially when the boys team up with Annika and friends.
