I think that is better than having a released book entered right away. I think that giving up on a book and then have someone journal months down the line after reading the book is somewhat more enjoying.

I think that it is a great idea to do release books with your daughter. I know that when I was younger I would have loved it and I can't wait for my daughter to get old enough to want to release some of her books.
