It depends how you define 'enjoyable'. Some books have you in tears, some make you squirm, some make you so angry you throw your books across the room, but you read them all the same because you just love books.

Anything can happen and will happen in his stories. If you think the journey is more important than the destination, then read him by all means.

I highly enjoyed The Eyre Affair, actually I read all four of them, there's no accounting for taste, I guess.

While the movie has great visual, the book has more details, the story is not a great one, but you get to know the inner life of a Geisha.

Maybe you would want to try something different, The Mortdecai Trilogy by Kyril Bonfiglioli is funny, but not for everyone's taste.
