I found Philosophy of Language by Alexander Miller to be very good, a nice introduction to logic and a bit about the philosophy of language. Hope this is the kind of thing your looking for. :o)

Was supposed to study it for A'Level but couldn't through even half the book, I absolutely detested it, and still do. I read the study guide for it and still managed to get an A - don't know though! lol!

Where as most people here seem to force themselves to read a book, I give up way too easily. Sometimes within the first few pages.
