An update: I read Piranesi and found it an interesting story. So good to read other genres so thank you!

Just an update: The Cruel Sea has been a fabulous read - thank you so much. I'm on the last 70 pages. Who do you think the hero of this story is: Ericson, Lockhart or the corvette, the Compass Rose?

Thank you, Gory. Good recommendations there. The Orenda - not available from the libraries apart from the ebook which is a little frustrating. Thanks again!

A distinctly New Zealand story that deals with loss, family and the debate around natural remedies v man made drugs. Nicely written if perhaps a little raw.

A bucolic tale of ye merry olde England. It's rather good and serves as a reminder to what we have lost through the changing fabric of the English village.

Aw's Harmony Silk Factory was an engrossing read and this one is equally good.

Not much like Cloud Atlas at all. Three different time periods that jump around...a lot. The first 300 pages are very confusing; the last 200 are worth the wait. But boy...what a wait.

I really hope this is not a Cloud Atlas rip off.

Overpowering. ...that's me not the book.

When you are online chatting to someone you never met, you need someone to check if this person is really who they say they are. That's where the verifiers come in.

O arrrrrrr......O arrrrrrrr. More 19th century frolickings in the hay. Far From The Madding Crowd and Tess of the D'Ubervilles are two of my favourite books so lets give this one a try.
