A great step forward for the BC Translation project

November 11, 2019
It's been a while since we've had any good news about the translation project. The project was held up by technical roadblocks, which was frustrating... if only because the Chinese translation had been ready for a while, and could not be deployed! We were very eager to see that change; after all, there are so many people in the world who speak and read Chinese, and so many of them love to read, and wouldn't it be great to be able to welcome them all to BookCrossing, whether or not they can also read English?

Well, the time has come to do exactly that. Ardik has figured out how to get around the technical obstacles, and he was able to upload the Chinese translation (Traditional Han) that the volunteer team worked so hard to finish. He also made it possible to choose the Chinese translation as a setting in your profile. In other words, it's now finally possible to view and use the BookCrossing.com website in Chinese.
The translation team is still checking all the nooks and crannies of the site and making corrections. These corrections will be implemented over the coming weeks. The Supply Store will soon offer bookplates in Chinese. In other words, this is a work in progress. And that progress is a lovely thing to see.

Thank you, Chinese translation volunteers! Your work was not wasted; many people will be able to enjoy BookCrossing because of it.
Let's all congratulate the team in this forum topic.
