4. When asked why he chose the name Piggly Wiggly, founder Clarence Saunders said, “So people will ask that very question.”

5. The eight juices in V8 are tomato, spinach, celery, carrot, beet, lettuce, watercress and parsley.

6. Crayola means “oily chalk.” The name combines the words “craie” (French for “chalk”) + “ola” (short for “oleaginous,” or “oily”).

8. In 2009, the plastic pink flamingo became the official bird of Madison, Wisconsin.
