A student on hiatus, a writer always...

I'm also originally from NY, now living in Scotland. This is the reason I don't have a problem posting books internationally, because I send stuff via airmail all the time.


I joined BookCrossing because I like the idea of sharing books with people all over the world.

My genres of choice are: Literary Fiction, Travel, Bios/Memoirs, anything sociology/psychology/anthropology/art related, and anything esoteric.

When I want what I call 'bubble-gum' reading, I like a good mystery/thriller.

Some of my favourite writers are Amy Tan, Alice Hoffman, Anne Tyler, Iain
Banks, Bernard McLaverty, Truman Capote, Katherine Mansfield.

I only make relase notes for books I actually 'forget' somewhere, and for bookrings where the book is oringinally mine. Books I trade or RABCKs do not get release notes, and so my stats here are a bit skewed.

I have plans for pretty much everything on my list at the moment. No AVLS to speak of, and my TBRs are alerady claimed by new readers after I finish them.

I would normally welcome trades, but I'll be moving in the next few weeks and wouldn't want any book coming back to me to get lost, and I'd also like to cut down on the stuff that needs moving!

My registered books are by no means the sum total of my actual collection!

My new challenge I've set for myself is to read all the Booker Prize Nominees and Winners...
