Hi,

I discovered bookcrossing in 2003. I am married with three children, one of whom we lost to cancer in March 2003. You will find her bookshelf still up and running under "Allistar" and most of the books I have released so far have been for her. That is Alli with me in the picture, enjoying hotdogs on a visit to her warthog at Marwell zoo soon after we discovered she had cancer. I work in a charity shop (op shop or thrift shop for the non-English!) here in England, but with responsibility for a big book and music section. So most of the books I read and release are bought from there and are therefore second-hand and sometimes well-read even before I set them free! I love books but collect mainly children's books. I have over 2,500 ladybird books (which will probably not mean anything unless you live in England and are over 30!)

Apparently, this is me!!

You're
the United Nations!

Most people think you're ineffective, but you are trying to
completely save the world from itself, so there's always going to be a long
way to go.  You're always the one trying to get friends to talk to each
other, enemies to talk to each other, anyone who can to just talk instead of
beating each other about the head and torso.  Sometimes it works and sometimes
it doesn't, and you get very schizophrenic as a result.  But your heart
is in the right place, and sometimes also in New York.
