Past Direct Releases
My Graphic Novel Madness: I released around 150 books (not all were appropriate to list on the site), and gave away over 200 comic magazines (naturally - unlisted, without a BCID, but with a sticker suggesting to just pass it on) at the 5th Tel Aviv Comics Festival at the end of August 2005. This was a controlled release, with books given as an incentive to people purchasing art from local independent artists (young patrons seem like a good target audience for released books), or people who attended my lecture.
A nice trickle of journal entries so far, I hope all those released books weren't released in vain.
Sci-Fi Release: a smaller, but very high quality Comics, Fantasy & Sci-Fi direct release, was made at the Icon2005 Sci-Fi & Fantasy festival, Tel Aviv Cinematheque, 18-21 October 2005. It included around 90 books (approx. half comics, half books).
About me:
I'm a brand strategist & web fiend living in London.
I caught the BC bug while still in Tel Aviv, and decided to do what I can to put Israel on the book-crossing world map. Released books mostly around Tel Aviv. trying to find direct release opportunities, as wild releases haven't proved themselves. Nowadays will start releasing again in London.
Some books are in Hebrew (specified it in their entries and release notes), some in English.
