I have been a lifelong lover of writing and books starting in junior high when I took an interim writing class. As part of the class we all wrote a short story and submitted it to a magazine. I wrote a science fiction story about appliances coming to life. The writing bug was born in me, but for awhile I pushed it aside. Later, once I was settled in a job and able to reflect a little more, the writing bug became a full fledged disease in me. I've been writing ever since, for at least three or four years now.
