I work as a medical translator through my own company.
In 2017, I was persuaded to sign up for a part-time MA in Egyptology at Swansea University. As a result, I ended up using all the spare money I had to move to Swansea. NowI only have 25 minutes walk to campus. I also volunteer at the Egypt Centre there, the largest collection of ancient Egyptian artefacts in Wales. I revel in having the beach at the bottom of my street and enjoy being back in a city with so much going on.
My educational background is in the biomedical sciences, but my interests spread further than that. I am interested in early, classical and folk music, West Gallery music, learning Welsh, playing the harp, fiddle and whistle. I am also interested in astrology, the Western mysteries, Ancient Egypt, mythology and psychology (especially Jungian).
For reading, I prefer fantasy, crime and mystery, as well as serious novels and books relevant to my interests when my brain is not too addled from work. Books written from a quirky or whimsical viewpoint are especially appealing. I cannot abide most of what is classed as women's fiction, romance and chick lit.
