Extended Profile
I have an MLS and worked in academic libraries for 7 years before moving to work for a subscription agent. I was with them for 15 years, minus one year during a brief stint in the Peace Corps (my service was cut short when the PC program in that country
was closed due to political strife). The company is headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama but has offices all over the world. In my last position with them, I worked for the regional office in Johannesburg, South Africa. But Jo'burg was a difficult place for
me, and so I left after 2 years. After 4 months in B'ham, I re-joined the ranks of academic librarians when I moved to Trinity University in San Antonio, Texas. And am now working at Western Carolina University in the beautiful Smoky Mountains.
