Extended Profile
Hello to All! I'm a book-a-holic (like most of you, I imagine). I'm interested in all kinds of things--- for quite some time, however, been addicted to mysteries and espionage thrillers (following in my mother's footsteps).
I'm a middle-aged woman learning French - and having a great time doing it! Parlez-vous? I began this because we are planning to move to Canada and I wanted to improve my chances at getting a job.
I live with my husband of almost 30 years, and my standard poodle, Colebury!
I guess that does it -- thanks for stopping by.
Rachel's M'dai --- And by the way – my name is Karen
My user name, Rachel's M'dai came about when my best friend adopted a child from Cambodia in 2001. She invited me along to help her out (she's a single mother) --- and so I met Rachel, one of the loves of my life – and considered my niece! She's now 7 - - - the word "m'dai" means something like "aunt" or more likely "honored older woman" (since I think there aren't "aunts" in that language – I believe it would be something like "my father's elder sister…") - [anyone who knows the language or has info to add is asked to share it!]. At any rate, she calls me M'dai – and I decided to use it with my other niece and will also do so when I have grandchildren!
So, best to you from Rachel's M'dai aka Karen
