"The role of a writer is not to say what we all can say, but what we are unable to say."

"A room without books is like a body without a soul."

I am not one who cares about my stats as far as books caught & released, I just love to read and share those books. Many times I find myself passing along a book I enjoyed to a friend then buying another copy and reading it again at a later point. I have always had a great love of reading so hearing about this site was a fun new tool for me. I already passed along books to my friends before this, now I just get to see where they go after they leave my hands!
"How many a man has dated a new era in his life from the reading of a book. The book exists for us perchance which will explain our miracles and reveal new ones."
Henry David Thoreau
Wanna know why Book Crossing is great?
Because you are reusing! You know recycling! Save a book today.
Don't throw it away, set it free!
I buy books way too often merely as they catch my eye in some way. My goal is to clear at least one of my 4 bookshelves full of books. In doing this I am trying to make the older books on my shelves from other bookcrossers my priority, but sometimes you just want to read what you want to read!
Know that if you send me a book, it will eventually get read and journalled upon.
I am a life long avid reader who doesn't care about how much I've read, but rather that I have enjoyed the books I have read.
I read everything. I really mean this. I will try anything once, if it is not to my liking I'll pass it along to someone who will enjoy it more than I did. Finding that some of the books passed to me are ones I would never have picked up on my own so I have bookcrossing & it's members for expanding my horizons.

"Don't ever apologize to an author for buying something in paperback, or taking it out from a library (that's what they're there for. Use your library). Don't apologize to this author for buying books second hand, or getting them from bookcrossing or borrowing a friend's copy. What's important to me is that people read the books and enjoy them, and that, at some point in there, the book was bought by someone. And that people who like things, tell other people. The most important thing is that people read... "

General "Rules" for my BookBoxes
(adapted from many people met on bookcrossing!)
- All books should be labeled with a BCID.
- Remove the books you want and replace with an equal number.
- Journal on the books you took out of the box
- PM the next person to get their mailing information.
[Note: even if you've sent books to that person before, please PM them before mailing this one, to confirm that the address is correct and that they're able to take on something at this time.]
- If there is no reply after multiple attempts, please skip to the next name on the list.
- Send via media mail to keep costs down. Delivery confirmation is at your discretion, but I like it for tracking.
- If the box doesn't look like it's going to make it to the next destination, feel free to replace it.
- Have fun and keep on bookcrossing!
