Extended Profile
I'll eventually be a teacher, but right now I'm mostly a bibliophile and I have serious reservations about freeing my books. On the other hand, I'm also running out of space and some of the books I own could use a new home, especially the duplicate copies.
I feel very passionately about comics, from lowly newspaper strips to high-art graphic novels. About the only aspect of the art I feel ambivalent about is the superhero genre, which I've never particularly cared for. I feel especially fond of Canadian cartoonists Seth (Guelph, Ont), Dave Cooper (Ottawa, Ont) and Michel Rabagliatti (Montreal, Qc).
Book-wise, I read a lot of non-fiction books. Topics that interest me include natural history, recreational mathematics and games, the skeptical take on traditional tabloid topics, and the horror of consciousness. Horror and science fiction novels (especially steampunk), and well-written as children's books round out my usual reading material.
