I had a long break from BookCrossing, but started again in 2020. I'm not sure why the long break, to be honest, but this is still such a good idea. During a declutter bootcamp in 2020 I realised that a lot of the books living on my shelves will probably never be re-read and I decided to start re-homing them to make room for the books I really love. New books that I've bought and read and also don't fall in love with now get registered and released, hopefully to someone who will enjoy them more.

As well as paperbacks and hardbacks, I read a lot of books on my Kindle and listen to audiobooks. I often read books from award lists, e.g. Women's Prize for Fiction; Hugo Award; Nebula Award; Booker Prize. If I register books these days, it's usually because I intend to release them.
