Extended Profile
I heard about this site from a dear friend. And was urged strongly to join. After hearing what it was all about, i had to.
My father always encouraged me to read, and told me of the awesome benefits it brings. As a result, i'm a bit of a book lover. A friend used to joke with me about my endless stream of books to read, maybe out of jealousy. Who knows?
My imagination has stayed very active, due to my reading. I love books that i can lose myself in, and not notice the passing of time while reading. Literacy truly is a gift.
I look forward to getting some books together and releasing them into the wild! I'll add more once i've begun the adventure.
2-1-04: i am adding this to my profile with a saddened heart. The friend that referred me to this site, moocgw, suddenly passed away last week. Anyone who would like to help honor his memory, please make releases or donations in his honor. I'm sure he would have loved it. This is a great loss to his family, friends, and community. He will be missed, by many. Thank you for your support, he loved this site.
2-5-04: a friend "tmoke" posted news of my friend's passing on the forum, requesting releases in his honor. I must say that i am truly overwhelmed by and greatful for the responses received. All over the world, members have responded with love and generosity. THANK YOU ALL. I know that my dearest friend would've been so greatful by this response.
2-21-04: i received an email from "Hero" with the responses for releases in moocgw's honor. Once again, i cried while reading it. I have been following the thread the past three weeks, and have been overwhelmed to say the least. It has been so wonderful, this response, from all over the world. This has become an international effort, a beautiful thing. Once again, i THANK YOU ALL for your efforts. And was told that his wings were made permanent, a beautiful gesture by the staff. Thanks to everyone who made donations for him to receive wings. He was right, this is a wonderful place.
I just added a whole slew of books to my bookshelf, any that are to be read, i would probably be willing to either trade or lend. Just PM me and ask, i have so many to read. And i have a few at home i recieved as RABCK's that i have to make entries on. So ask, and i'll let you know.
11-03-04: i haven't been active for quite a few months due to technical difficulty. i've now got a slightly newer pc with a broadband connection, so i'll be more active again. i know i owe some postage and books to some members, but have no clue who.i am going to post in the wish list forum about it, but if you read this please message me so i can do the right thing. thanks.
Been an awfully long year, have read some stuff and have to make journal entries about them and will soon. hope all is well for all members, and that the tides soon turn for me to a better and brighter horizon.
