Extended Profile
My interest in BookCrossing was aroused on finding sitting on a wall The Bourne Identity by
Robert Ludlum. It had been released as a BookCrossing book. [see
BCID 4232682]
My interest was sufficiently aroused that I not only joined but I was even inspired to write a short article about BookCrossing.
Prior to joining BookCrossing, my interest in books was such, that I had already set up two websites.
A very belated spring clean of the house (with a big thank you to Iva and her brother Karel for their help) has liberated a few books. I am reluctant to part with any books, but feel if they are sitting on my shelves, or more likely on the floor, they are best released so other people can read them. Some are being passed to charity shops, some released into the wild, others are being passed to friends.
Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, depending upon how you look at it, I have been acquiring new books at a much faster rate than books are leaving the house.
I have helped set up or been instrumental in setting up several BookCrossing zones. You will know if you come across them as you will find, or at least will have passed through, books registered by or with a journal entry from myself (ie keithpp).
Books that I have registered have found their way to Guildford in Surrey, Brighton in Sussex, Lincolnshire, Swansea in Wales, Prague in the Czech Republic, Moscow, Australia, America.
I have recently discovered and enjoyed reading or look forward to reading books by Paulo Coelho, Orhan Pamuk, Monica Ali,
Isabel Allende, Margaret Atwood, Paul Auster, Khaled Hosseini, Elizabeth Kostova, Gabriel García Márquez, Irène Némirovsky, Arundhati Roy, Åsne Seierstad, Carlos Ruiz Zafón, Yevgeny Zamyatin.
