Note from KayJay's family
here, regarding her passing in April 2013.
This is one of the most entertaining sites I have found. What a thrill when somebody journals a book you have left in the wild.
I am retired, a mother of five and Grandma to fourteen great kids.I became a Great Grandma in June.A lovely little girl was born on June 13th/2009. Her name is Kapri Eileen Sandra.
News Flash.... I became a Great Grandmother again today, March 22nd , 2012. Another little girl whose name is MacKenzie Raine.
My first Great Grandson Max Emmerik was born on October 14th.2012, a cousin for MacKenzie
One more Great Granddaughter ,Braelynn Marie. She was born on December 31st,2012, and is a cousin for Mackenzie and Max.
*** It is suggested that those of us taking part in the Birthday RABCK should list some of our likes and dislikes. I don't really care much for Horror books but like believable Science Fiction. Any book sent to me doesn't have to be on my wish list but it would be good to check my shelf to make sure I don't already have it.
I am not a tea drinker but like to have some on hand for visitors. I love chocolate bars and coffee.
I collect fridge magnets and have quite a large collection of spoons, and hat pins with the country flag on it. Most of them are from places I've visited but don't think I'll be doing much more travelling so any would be welcome. *****
I can't remember when I learned to read, I know that it was before I went to school. It is still one of my favorite pastimes.
Life hit me a blow in June when I suffered a cardiac arrest in Calgary Airport. I spent some time in Calgary Foothills Hospital before coming back home to Langley. It changed my life somewhat. I am on oxygen all the time now which is a hassle when you want to go anywhere. I won't be flying again and out of province medical will be too costly. But I am alive!!!!
If anyone needs my address to send along a bookray, I am listed on RABCK.com. I will journal any books as soon as I get them.
I have been keeping a private list of books I have read . The total was fifty-five for 2005. I think I need to get a life besides reading. That is more than one book each week. I read eighty-five in 2006 . I have now read seventy-five books in 2007. What will the total be in 2008 ? Update..I read seventy-eight books by the end of December, 2008. The year,2009 ,I read ninety-four books. I think this means that I am slowing down, sitting around reading instead of being active. that's old age for you.I only read seventy-nine books in 2010. Either I am becoming more active again, or they were just bigger books.
In 2011 I read 79 books and started 6 more that I lost interest in, before I finished.
I only read 55 books this year. My episode in Calgary slowed down my reading but I'm hoping that things will get better when I get new glasses.
I am becoming more involved each week. I am now doing a few trades, have entered RABCK's and hosted some of my own. I have even joined some book rays. So much fun ! In fact, I have joined so many that if they all reach me at the same time, I will be in trouble.
