Extended Profile
Hi everyone my name is Jess and I go to an International Baccalaureate school. I am in year 10 so I am required to do a personal project for the Middle Years Program. In previous years people have re-done cars, coached a netball or
other sporting team, sewed clothes and sold them to provide a donation to a charity, redecorated a room or designed a garden for a new house for their personal projects. But I have decided to raise money to send books to community libraries, school libraries
and orphanages in developing countries as well as some to Outback Australia.
I am hoping people will donate books and i will also buy some books. I plan to raise the money to pay for the books and postage by selling bookstrings and beaded creatures made by my mum and I. I will also be researching other fundraising ideas and choosing the best suited one.
I chose to do this because i think books change people and people can change the world.
So far I have sent:
22 books to Blossom Dayspring home, Tamilnadu, INDIA on 4/11/06
53 books to Dudzai Primary School, Zimbabwe on 27/1/07
75 books to Blossom Dayspring home, Tamilnadu, INDIA on 27/1/07
66 books to therubycanary to distribute to schools in Nepal on 24/2/07
67 books to Scuola elementare-media, Eritrea on 21/4/07
40 books to Indulkana Anangu School on 7/7/07
