I'm an avid reader of almost anything well written. I've had lots of books over the years, but lately I'm trying to give them away to friends, to the library or use the BookCrossing technique of releasing them into the wild. I've donated many books to our local library, as they appreciate the support. I pretty much use the library now and only occasionally buy books. I loved the idea of bookcrossing.com when I first came across it, but I'm just now able to devote some time to registering books and releasing books. It's a fairly time consuming process if you have lots of books. Somehow the mystery of leaving a book to be found by someone appeals to me, although only one (now two!) of my released books showed up again. What happens to those released books, will I ever know? Probably not, but that's okay.
I'm a nurse practitioner, have worked pediatrics and hospice, and at times I'm an artist/bum, taking occasional art classes working in watercolor, pastels, pen & ink, pencil, and colored pencil.
