Extended Profile
I read quickly and am heavy going on my own books. I break spines, bend pages and read in the bath. All goes to show that a book has been enjoyed.
But if I borrow a book from you promise to use a book mark and keep it dry.
I read a lot a female books, urban fantasy, paranormal romance with an occassional thriller thrown in.
Books I will never touch are the true stories of abused childhoods, in the vein of Dave Peltzer. For me books are escapism not about having nightmares for weeks after.
Am always open to new and different authors and will to give it a try once.
Please note that a few books on my bookshelf are part of my permanent collection, which I am willing to lend out on the condition they are returned to me. Well more than a few actually as I love rereading books and regret getting rid of hundreds when I moved house. But as I said I am very happy to lend them out.
Favourite book is Gone With the Wind by Margaret Mitchell. My favourite author is Laurell K Hamilton, and is the only person I will willing pay a hardback price for.
I buy books in bulk at charity shops or car boot sales, so will always have something new to look at.
If I do borrow books I will read these first so to send them back or pass them on.
My Wish List
Please note that on my wishlist I keep track of books which are not yet published, so they make up the bulk of my wishes. I enjoy what the Americans call as cozy mysteries, nice light reads with no violence(apart from murder), sex or swearing. And there is so many of them, I have not even started putting them on my wishlist.
If you have my name from a sweepstake or Not So Secret Event, there is no need to buy off my wishlist. I would be happy with anything, but if they have a vein of romance or mystery through them all the better.
