I've always loved reading, I start to read all sorts of books, but the only ones that can hold my interest are thrillers and mystery types, like the Da Vinci Code, and big conspiracy books like that. My favourite authors in this regard are David Baldacci, a living legend, and Andy McNab, although his books are quite depressing. I will read any sort of thriller though. I also am a fann of foreign literature, especially French and German, having read the Three Musketeers and The Count of Monte Cristo, and finding them both brilliant. I have tried to read War and Peace, although I admit that I had to give that up, it was not to my taste. I also enjoy German authors such as Thomas Mann and Heinrich Böll. I have dabbled in Goethe, but I feel my German is not sufficient to fully appreciate his literature. I am also an avid fan of Kafka, as his enigmatic stories are very thought-provoking.

It does not really matter to me that much what I read, however, as I need something to read all the time, I need a book to be reading at night, or in the morning, or just when I have a spare moment, and to that end I will read anything I can lay my hands on. My one problem is that books can be expensive, and my local and school libraries are inadequately stocked with my type of literature, which is why this site appeals to me so much. A thoroughly good idea!
