Extended Profile
I am a stay home mom of two boys , ages 4 & 6. We homeschool, dance, play dress-up and pretend, (alot of which begins with the books we have read.) We share our home with a house bunny, hermit crabs, canaries, 4 laying hens and a bunch of yard bunnies.

I have always searched for extra copies of books that have touched me...I am pleased to find this adventurous avenue for sharing the written word with others. In my life 'bc' (before children), lol, I enjoy(ed) reading works of fiction; biographies; poetry; science and nature; philosophy/world religion; select sociological works; some science fiction; and weird as it may be- I like to read cookbooks, though I loathe to cook. Because I have now embraced the west as my home, I have developed a love for western fiction. Recently finished The Big Sky series by a.b. Gutherie. and I sincerely hope to read more from Jim Fergus who penned the spectacular One Thousand White Women. (ps- if anyone out there knows Jim, I would meet him!) My favorite authors include Ann Tyler, Barbara Kingsolver, Eudora Welty, Amy Tan (anyone notice a trend?) Recent bios read have been on Jimmy Carter, and Scott and Helen Nearing's "The Good Life".

My favorite books from the earliest I can remember were "Heidi", "Miss Suzy", The "Nancy Drew" series, "Mad" magazine, "Watership Down"... fast forward to present ... everything by Maya Angelou, in particular to hear her 'book on tape' recitations of her poetry, "Contact" by Carl Sagan, poetry by Miller Williams, "The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho, "Person To Person" edited by George Graham and Hugh Lafollette, "When Bad Things Happen To Good People" by Harold Kushner, and any of the comic book series "Beautiful Stories For Ugly Children".

When I am not reading you can find me digging in my garden with my bare hands.
