Extended Profile
This is the bookshelf for the Chambana Bookcrossers, the local group in Urbana-Champaign, IL. Currently we're idle. We were an RSO on campus then all the students graduated.
We did major book handouts a couple times a year--just stood in the union or the quad and handed out stacks and stacks of books. Was fun. The first mass-handouts were registered on individual shelves, but then we got smart and made this one, since our shelves were getting lost!
There is at least one member (kayote) still around, maintaining this shelf. If you want to restart the club, let me know! I'd be glad to help.
We had an official bookcrossing release zone on the 4th floor of IUB outside the insurance office. It was still there in 2008 when I poked my head up, though with lots of non-BX books. Not sure if it still is.
