Extended Profile
I was introduced to BookCrossing by a co-worker and think it is a marvellous concept which I in turn will share with my book club.
I have enjoyed reading for as long as I can remember. Growing up in the country we didn't have access to a library so every six weeks or so we would receive a box of books from the Edmonton Extension Library. I always seemed to read mine before the next shipment came so I then started to read the books that my parents requested. In addition to my own picks I've read a lot of books by Zane Grey since he was one of my dad's favorite authors.
Growing up one of my favorite books was The Day of the Triffids by John Wyndham. More recently I have added to my list of favorites Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden, Too Close to the Falls by Catherine Gildiner, Fortune's Rocks by Anita Shreve, White Oleander by Janet Fitch and Kits Law by Donna Morrissey.
I have lots of interests and hobbies and am a "bookwormmom2". I encourage my children to read since having access to books was one of the greatest gifts I received as a child. Hopefully one day they will feel that way too.
