October 2nd, 2014: have released about 40 books in the last week or so to the condo bookshelf... and they are all 'gone' as of today. No one else ever does put any there but it's great that someone is taking mine. Maybe some day I'll hear from one of them!
========
July 17th, 2014: just released 19 books to the condo bookshelf... 1st since February... At "The Q" in North Vancouver, BC. (February the books disappeared in a day or so!).
============
February 2014 - just released 15 books to my NEW condo bookshelf yesterday; again, these were all back from a long stint on my daughter/granddaughter's bookshelf. I'll be excited to see how many have disappeared from the condo bookshelf later today! More to come in a week or so!
============
September 2013 - just released 18 books to the condo bookshelf today; all back from a long stint on my daughter's bookshelf and all previously registered and read by both me and my neighbour! Also registered quite a few books this week and have another dozen to do (from my daughter).

The supply of books from my 'winter cottage' in Arizona is getting scarce (the 'boxes' of books from a friend there 2 1/2 years ago is dwindling rapidly!)... I'll have to frequent a few more garage sales this season!

============
August 2012 - just linked Facebook to Bookcrossing... wonder what that will do? Still doing lots of reading 'when I have time'.... more when I'm at the winter cottage.
=============
November 2009 - back at the 'winter cottage'... hopefully, more time for reading in the winter sunshine! Made it to Vienna in late September-October and to Flanagan's Irish Pub (Bookcrossing shelf!) but didn't have time to catch up with Amberkatze who lives in Vienna.
=======
Summer 2009 - in Vancouver.
========
Summer 2008 has been terrific; Olympics watching cut down on my reading!

Off to Vienna in September for 4 weeks... hope to catch up with some Bookcrossers at Flanagans Irish Pub there (I DID!)

Winter 2008-09 - bought lots of books and read lots of them at my new 'winter cottage' in Arizona.... brought them back to Vancouver and many went to my neighbour & daughter... and many will be released in the summer of 2009.
===================
Summer 2004 - I read most of the Anne Rice books (something I've been wanting to do for years) since I luckily found the first two Vampire Chronicles on a bookcrossing shelf in June. In all I've been lucky to find 3 Anne Rice books on OBCZ shelves but for the remainder, I've had to resort to the public library.

So, in addition to Interview with the Vampire (1st vampire chronicle) , the Vampire Chronicles (2nd book), and The Mummy/Ramses the Damned (a one-off story) which you can see on my Bookcrossing shelf I also read these in the Summer of 2004:

*The Queen of the Damned (3rd vampire),
*Blood and Gold (4th vampire & Marius' story),
*Pandora (covers 2000 years of this vampire),
*The Witching Hour (1st Mayfair witch book),
*Blackwood Farm (the 1st fusing of Mayfair witches/vampires...Lestat returns!), and the latest,
*Blood Canticle (picks up where Blackwood Farm leaves off....more Mayfair witches/vampires).
*Vittorio the Vampire.....Florence of the 1400s
*Taltos the 2nd Mayfair witch book - Sept2004
Memnoch The Devil, Lestat's encounter with God and the Devil (Memnoch) .... my least favourite anne Rice to date... much theology.
*Cry to Heaven, Sept2004.... a story of Italy of the 1700's .... the life of the 'castrati' singers, young boys who were castrated to preserve the soprano voices for performing in operas and other stage acts since the Church forbade women to perform. Excellent...an insight into medieval Italy (and the Church); ranges from the City-state of Venice to Florence and Rome. An early Anne Rice (1982).
*Merrick, Sept 2004. Features both witches and vampires and venues from New Orleans to Guatemala: David Talbot recounts Merrick's story to Louis; Merrick, a coloured Mayfair witch, recalls Louis' Claudia; Louis makes Merrick a vampire; Lestat awakes from a long sleep. Anne Rice's 22nd book (published 2000); excellent.
*Violin, Sept2004. A 1997 Anne Rice. Modern day New Orleans, Triana, has just lost her husband to AIDS, throwing her back into memories of other lost loved ones. Stefan, a ghost violinist, preys on her and she fights for her sanity/life. Insight into Russian Vienna, current Vienna, and Rio. Very difficult read (I skipped lots of the early parts of the book) but worth the persistence in the end.
*Belinda, Nov 2004...in two days... A 1986 Anne Rice writing as Anne Rampling. Very good read... chief venues San Francisco, Carmel, New Orleans; a 44 year old writer/artist and his 16 year old lover.
