I am a proud native of Orangeburg, SC. My husband and I have lived in Hartwell, GA for 12 years. I am a retired English teacher (high school for 5 yrs., then 22 yrs. at a community college). I miss my students and the personal & intellectual feedback they gave to me, but I now enjoy editing or critiqueing the written work of several friends. With 4 grandsons who are all in K-2nd grade, I'm thoroughly entranced by watching their learning processes as I did with their fathers (my two grown sons). Naturally, I am working on a tome of my own!

My husband and I are avid readers, though our genres do take different paths from time to time. I really like biography and "faction" whereas my husband prefers mostly fiction of any type. We are in a local book club of couples and singles (ages 36-62), and we try to read the same book every few months, then gather at a delegated host's home to discuss the book selection over a "bring a dish meal" or we may meet at a nearby restaurant. We are presently reading THE BRIDGE by Doug Marlette. I look forward to learning more about this newly-found Book Crossing website! BWG
