"Always carry a book, you never know when you'll need it."

Rory Gilmore

"One thing I'm glad about: I'm never bored and I never mind waiting--anywhere. Unless, of course, I've forgotten my book, in which case I just run off and buy another one. I read at the DMV, in movie lines, in bank teller lines, or when the shuttle from L. A. to San Francisco is four hours later. Layovers in unfamiliar airports are a treat as are jury notices that arrive at my home and give me license to sit around and read all day..."

Literacy and Longing in L.A.

I to read.

I cannot live without books ~ Thomas Jefferson

I read a lot about books and get recommendations looking on bookstore websites , author websites, and the many great book blogs available. I currently frequent Dear Author, Smexy Books, and Smart Bitches, Trashy Books. Also, if I find a book I really liked, I look at what other readers (reviewers) recommend or what books were purchased with that book. Usually I find so many more books then I can possibly read.
I love talking about books as well. Ask me what I’m reading and I’ll tell you that, plus any other really good books I’ve read, then I'll quiz you about your favorites.

Recommended Reading

If you like paranormal-urban fantasy, you must try Ilona Andrews. Their Kate Daniels series, Hidden Legacy series, and Innkeeper Chronicles are outstanding. Anne Bishop's The Others novels are also great reading. I've never read her before and was hooked after the first one, Written in Blood. Kelley Armstrong is another option. She has several really good series in different genres . She's not been writing anything new for the Otherworld or Nadia Stafford series, but check them out. I'm also enjoying her series City of the Lost .

For general fiction/mystery, I enjoy Lee Child, J. D. Robb, Jonathan Kellerman and Michael Connelly.
For romance lovers, I strongly recommend Penny Reid. She writes funny, charming stories. I love almost everyone of her books, including those she writes with L. H. Cosway. I also like Mariana Zapata, Samantha Young, Kylie Scott, and Christina Lauren.

Got any good book suggestions...
