Extended Profile
Hello all! Like most of the rest of you, I think this website is WONDERFUL, and was very excited upon discovering it. I have loved reading my whole life, from looking at picture books as a toddler, to just reading for pleasure now. I stopped reading for
pleasure in my teens and it lasted through my early twenties, when I picked up the habit again. I didn't realize how much I missed it! Books have had the power to soothe, distract, and entertain me from a very early age.
I remember being three years old and being sent to my room for various offenses (which occured a lot ;-), and being very upset. Playing with my toys wouldn't calm me down. Only reading could. It would distract me until I was feeling calmer. It still works today. For me, it's a very powerful thing. Much more effective and entertaining than turning on the television or watching a movie.
Happy Crossing! :-)
