I am a certified veterinary technician who comes home from a busy long day and reads reads reads. There aren't many authors I don't enjoy.
My mom and sisters and I (and sometimes my dad) swap books when we visit each other...since we live spread out all over the country. Some of my books may go through them first before being released.
I am very possessive of my books (have over 5 floor to ceiling bookshelves worth of books) but am not opposed to leaving them somewhere if people will let me know that they found them! I don't want to waste them!
vnsabooksale.org/ <-----this is where I go to find most of my books...if you've never been, it is AWESOME. On Sundays, books are half off (regular prices start at $4.00 for new fiction hardbacks!!!!) so I usually walk out of there with around 20 books for $20-$30!!
I am also a member of Paperbackswap.com, and Bookmooch.com. It has been an excellent way to get the books I've wanted, and didn't know I want, and to trade the books I don't want anymore. I use them in combination with Bookcrossing to see where my books end up!
All time favorite author is Joyce Carol Oates. I also really enjoy Margaret Atwood, Alice Hoffman, Wally Lamb, Leo Tolstoy and Gabriel Garcia Marquez.
