Reading has always been my favorite activity, since I first learned to read. The wonders ,the joys, the sorrows, the incredable stories ,the laughs and the horrors. All these and more to be found in books. The sheer delight of traveling to different times, places, worlds , reading about triumphs and tragedies has kept me enthralled. Of course book shops are my favorite place to shop and other peoples book shelves are a source of exiting new finds.
I live and work in the north west of england, have a large family and don't always get enough time to read all the books I want to.
My first love has always been good Sci-Fi Isacc Asimov et al, and Fantasy I read Terry Prachett for light reading, I also enjoy science and philosophy. I am not much into romance or historical dramas. I prefer books which help me understand how we have become the people we are and the human psyche, autobiograpies particularly of people who have gone through life changing events ie Terry Waite, John McCarthy.
