Bookcrossing Ideas
There's always more to do than time to do the things you could ever wanna have liked to do eventually - you know. So here's a list of undone things, ideas, projects related to bookcrossing.
- Bookcaches. Hybridise bookcrossing with geocaching. Hide geocaches containing bookcrossing books (and a logbook of course). My first bookcache is called
"Another book in the wall", at present one of the rather popular geocaches in Zurich, even though it is for small books only.
- Bookcrosser's Guide to Switzerland and possibly to the Galaxy. A map showing the OBCZ, public bookshelves, shops selling cheap books and the best spots to release books.
- Release Tree. Appoint a release tree in Zurich, a tree (hopefully) bearing heaps of books, attracting readers, bookcrossers and new members. We are working on this.
- Switzerland in 24 hours. Release a book in each of the 26 Swiss cantons within 24 hours using public transport. As far as I know, this is not (yet) possible with a start and end point at the same location. Upcoming faster train connections might
help.
- Fountain Release Challenge Zurich. Release books at as many of Zurich's beautiful fountains as possible. (You know how many there are? 119, 199 or 1199? See the official
fountain homepage)
