Extended Profile
I live in a small community and that sometimes makes my book quests difficult, but in the spirit of Lewis and Clark ( giggle)- I quest on! I don't mind going to the big city to look for books and make sure to stop at the Wal-mart superstore on the way
to make the trip worth while.
It may sound silly but I likes used books the best- they are already broken in a little and they always seem to have something left over- you get the sense whether the person or persons before you enjoyed the book. Sometimes it is even fun to discover a plane ticket stub or an old photo tucked into the pages that the last person used for book mark.
I like to read John Grisham and own all of his books except the Christmas one, love Robert Fulghum to pieces and there has never been anything of his that I didn't love enough to read several times over. With his wry wit he can make you look at something in your life differently and most likely understand or accept it better than before.
The only books I buy/trade and then read that I do not part with are books about the Presidents of the United States- I am aiming to have at least one for each- though admit FDRis my favorite and have 3 about him. I also cannot seem to part w/ any historical/non-fiction books relating to the Vietnam War. Someday I may very well have a library of my own on this subject. Those who survived that war fascinate me, command my respect and I guess I am always searching for their secret- how they managed to bring themselves home and survive not just physically but spiritually, emotionally.........
I love book crossing. It is a great concept.
