I've been a bookworm since early childhood. I remember staying up late reading a book with a flashlight under the covers so my parents wouldn't know I wasn't asleep. Still occasionally stay up till wee hours of the morning reading, but don't have to do
it under the covers any more unless I want to be nostalgic.
My current favorite genres are science-fiction/fantasy and murder mysteries, althought the book club I'm in exposes me to much more "serious" reading.
