Extended Profile
I am a 56 year old woman who is a slow but eclectic reader. About 15 years ago I helped form a book club in Portland, OR and it was one of the great experiences of my life. The Club helped me explore types of reading that I'd never have tried out. I'd
rather meet in person with people to talk about books than chat online, but this is a start.
I'm a data processing professional. Right now my favorite hobby is stamping. However, outdoors, natural history, mushrooms, sewing and canoing are topics I enjoy.
A great delight in my life is that I'm a grandma of two lovely young grand daughters.
I love complex, well-written literature. Some of my favorite novels have been Look Homeward Angel, Angle of Repose, and From Sea to Shining Sea. I have a fairly large collection of Natural History books. Dorris Lessing may be my favorite author because she always challenges to engage me in all that "at the edge" stuff that we tend to avoid.
I LOVE beautifully written prose, whether in support of non-fiction or fiction, and I'll admit, I still like picture books.
