Extended Profile
Hi Fellow Readers,
I like to read many different kinds of books. I enjoy some non-fiction, particularly biographies. Not too long ago I read John Adams by David McCullough, which I liked very much. I wish I could find a good book about Ben Franklin.
Recent fiction favorites of mine are Possession by A.S. Byatt, Ahab's Wife by Sena Jeter Naslund, The Hours by Michael Cunningham, That Old Ace in the Hole by Annie Proulx, I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith, Last Orders by Graham Swift, and The Stone Diaries by Carol Shield.
Among my all-time-favorite books are The Accidental Tourist by Anne Tyler, a Room With a View by E.M. Forster, Kiss of the Spider Woman by Manuel Puig, Bel Canto by Ann Patchet, The Shipping News by Annie Proulx, The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster, and The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien. I love the writing of Shakespeare, Jane Austen, Peter Carey, and Ursula Hegi.
My guilty pleasure is Bridget Jones's Diary & its sequel, Bridget Jones - The Edge of Reason, both of which I just re-read. I wish Helen Fielding would write more about Bridget!
I also like to walk, go bike riding, knit & crochet, and make jewelry.
Cheers,
Nikton
