I'm a big advocate for the library system, but I've found that, when traveling, I'm not necessarily a local library card holder. Bookcrossing seems to be one way to get my hands on a good read without having those troubles.
Besides, it's like getting two stories in one: the book, and the story about the prior owner that comes along with it.
