Extended Profile
I am a romantic individual who was immediately taken with the idea of 'releasing' a book into the world, and seeing where it travels. Since I am never not reading a book (usually two), and an inveterate letter writer, this is a wonderfully logical yet
serendipitous way to make contact with others. All my life I have written to various penpals and correspondents around the world, so I would welcome messages from those who pick up my books. Just say hello!
At first it was my intention to share only Canadian books. But, while I adore Canadian literature, there are other books that I hold deep within my heart. So along with Margaret Laurence, Michael Ondaatje and Alistair McLeod, I must include John Irving's "A Prayer for Owen Meany" and John Steinbeck's "Grapes of Wrath" among those books I am compelled to share. Everything by Roddy Doyle.
And Frances Hodgson Burnett's "The Secret Garden"... Incidentally, what a marvellous idea for children!
Let's share. Let's read. Let's read to our kids.
Peace.
