Hello all I am a VA. native who moved to NH when newly married nearly 40 years ago this July, after my husband left the army.

He was from Nashua and wanted to move home. I am now a "dyed in the wool"New Englander and wouldn't live anywhere else in the world with the exception of Ireland after visiting there a few years ago.

We have 3 grown children and 8 grandchildren from 13-3 yrs in age. My husband is a Vietnam vet and has been disabled due to a work injury at age 42. We moved to Fremont, NH on 9/11 into a manufactured one level home as the stairs had become a problem for him. I am now "early"retired and recently diabled.

My father infused me and my brothers and sister with the love of reading at a early age and I in turn passed it on to my 3 and all my grandchildren. All three of my granddaughters are book lovers as are their mothers. My son read a lot in the service but not so much now but on occastion will say he found a book he really felt he should read. My husband reads but not a lot but in our new neighborhood we have several readers and upon reading the article in the Manchester Union Leader I told them all about BOOKCROSSING.COM and that I was very intriged by it.
I always have stacks the I usually donate to the local library about once or twice a year as does my daughter who is still single and a very avid reader. This sounds just as useful and even more fun since maybe I could make some new friends as well as get the "skinny" on some books I thought about but never read.

I have had sewing business on the side for as long I can rememeber " The Velvet Pin Cushion" helped keep a roof over our heads when my husband first became disabled as my income alone wasn't enough. And with 3 teens, and somes times 2-3 occasional"adopted" children - my kids friends, my mother in law and best friend and my husband's aunt as well as my dear husband, there was always the need for extra food and other necessities and it was my outlet and relaxation and actually helped to keep my sanity.

There is a lot of water under my bridge but I am all the better person for it.
